SKYREPLY FREE BETA · OCTOBER 13, 2026
Privacy policy
SkyReply is operated by Erik Merrill. This policy describes the prototype, not a future paid service.
What we collect
Your phone number, SMS opt-in status and time, coordinates you send, questions, replies, message identifiers, and delivery status. We do not automatically receive your phone’s GPS. The operator console uses a session cookie to keep the operator signed in. If you request a beta invite, we collect your name and mobile number to review access. A session cookie protects the request form; this browser stores a private request token so you can check status. A hashed network address is retained for up to 24 hours to limit abuse. Requesting access alone does not consent to SMS. An optional, unchecked approval-text box permits one automated approval notification. We record its wording, time, and delivery status separately; ongoing AI replies require START and YES.
How we use it
We use invitation details to review and manage beta access. We use this information to answer your requests, remember your current and camp locations, enforce beta limits, and troubleshoot delivery. The operator can review beta conversations. Do not send sensitive personal information.
Service providers
Twilio processes SMS messages and phone numbers. OpenAI processes your question, recent conversation context and any relevant saved coordinates or weather data. Weather and timezone lookups send coordinates to the National Weather Service. Web search uses your question and relevant recent conversation context to find public sources. Sunrise/sunset times are calculated locally. Public reference pages store source URLs, page titles and lookup times for up to the retention period; they do not intentionally publish your conversation or phone number. The hosting provider stores the app database. We do not sell personal information or share SMS opt-in data or consent with third parties for marketing. Service providers process necessary data to operate the service.
Retention and deletion
The app deletes conversation jobs after 30 days through periodic cleanup. Approval-notification consent and delivery records remain for operational consent records; contact support for deletion. Reviewed invitation requests are retained for up to 30 days; pending requests for up to 90 days. Approved tester access records remain until removed by the operator; contact support for deletion, including if you have not enrolled. Saved locations and consent remain until you delete them. Text DELETE to remove conversations, locations and enrollment from the app. Minimal receipt records (phone number, message ID and receipt time) remain for up to 30 days to prevent repeated webhooks from triggering duplicate actions. Text STOP to opt out; STOP does not delete stored data. Provider logs, backups and provider-side records may remain under their own retention policies. Weather timestamps and delivery metadata may be reviewed for testing.
